The auction takes place at Beau-Rivage Genève hotel, Salon de l’Impératrice. Antiquorum will host a groundbreaking auction in Geneva this coming May 11th and 12th, at Beau-Rivage Genève hotel, with an outstanding selection of the rarest modern & vintage timepieces and pens; an auction structured around three key moments.

Session 1, taking place on May 11th will unveil a private British collection gathering the most soughtafter masterpieces encompassing lots kept in a vault since their last purchase at auction in the 1960’s. Also, the session 1 will carry on by an exquisite 20 years IWC private collection bringing together 66 IWC timepieces in excellent condition. Especially two notable original large size IWC Portuguese
wristwatch, lot 88 fitted with a black dial and mounted on a Gay Freres bracelet. The Portuguese, introduced in 1942, was one of the largest and most remarkable watches ever produced by IWC. And finally, for the first time in its history, Antiquorum will offer a remarkable Namiki & Montblanc pen collection, among the impressive selection the so called “Hannya”, a Dunhill/Namiki pen considered as the only example remaining made by Goronku Mastusda, a pinnacle for enthusiasts

On Sunday 12th, the Geneva auction session 2 and 3 will confuse even the most nerveless watch collectors, offering important contemporary timepieces. Among the pocket watch selection, Antiquorum is pleased to offer lot 579, an Omega chronograph pocket watch which is in all likelihood a unique specimen if its kind, featuring a “plique à jour” enamel technic applied without metallic back, a real proof of craftmanship. The rarity of the present lot will most definitely capture the heart of any collector. From Patek Philippe, a true masterpiece for the world’s nest collectors: the reference 3974 (lot 725), a caliber launched in 1989 to celebrate Patek Philippe’s 150th anniversary. It was the world’s most
complicated wristwatch at that time, discontinued in 2000 very few pieces were made due to its extreme watchmaking complexity. Antiquorum will also present near mint examples of a platinum 3800, two reference 3700 one in steel signed “Beyer” (lot 544) and an exclusive pre-series version of the Aquanaut with “prototype” inscribed on the dial (lot 726). From Rolex, the auction will thrill watch connoisseurs with two near mint examples of Daytonas, one being a Paul Newman dialled reference 6240 (lot 685), the other a modern version of the Daytona reference 16520 with all accessories enhanced by this its exceptional porcelain dial signed by Tiffany(lot 688).

Magnificent and probably unique form-watch in the shape of a scent-bottle or a Neo-classical vase, with centre-seconds and concealed singing-bird; 18K yellow gold, enamel and pearls. “L’Oiseau privé” (The Tamed Bird), after an engraving of Jean-Jacques Flipart (1719-1782) and a drawing of François Boucher (1703-1770). 18K yellow gold, enamel and pearls.

Amazing makie work grade A+ with the most complicate techniques of raden, taka makie, hira makie and togidashi on an ebonite barrel covered by red urushi.
This museum piece is unique and comes from the most known collection of the world.
