Two iconic Omega Speedmasters 2915-1 up for sale at Bukowskis

Bukowskis proudly presents two iconic Omega Speedmasters 2915-1 at the upcoming autumn auction – Important Timepieces, taking place on the 25th of October. The two watches have an estimate of 900 000 SEK and 350 000 SEK each.

The first watch, which was made the 6th of June in 1958, was handed in to Bukowskis after the owner’s son, not knowing about its value, had found the watch at the attic in a box.

– It is stories like this one that makes my work as a specialist so meaningful. The feeling when the provenance and high quality of an object are unified in this way is unbeatable. It will be very exciting to follow the bidding on this rarity, says Nina Westerlund, Head Specialist Watches.

The last time an Omega Speedmaster 2915-1 of this standing was sold at an auction was at Christie’s in 2015, which resulted in a new record for an Omega Speedmaster with a final price of $137 000.

Bukowskis finest specimen and the top number in the auction has everything one can wish for in a Speedmaster 2915-1 and is the most prestigious watch to ever be sold at a Bukowskis auction. The original Broad Arrow hands, a clean case back without the seahorse inscription, the original base 1000 tachymeter scale on the steel bezel, the oval ”O” in Omega and a correct 7077/6 steel bracelet, makes the watch one of the most sought after in the world for watch collectors.

Bukowskis presents not only one but two magnificent Omega Speedmaster 2915-1, the second one with an estimate of 350 000 SEK, also included in the auction on the 25th. The possibility to find an Omega Speedmaster 2915 for sale today is already difficult and finding two of the Omega Speedmaster 2915-1 in great conditions like these, extremely rare.

– The fact that two watches from the first series of Omega Speedmaster 2915-1 are sold at the same auction is wonderfully thrilling and will most likely not happen soon again, says Carl Palmegren, Associate Specialist Watches.
