LOT 59

Heuer – Skipper “Skipperera” Ref. 7753in Stainless Steel Chronograph watch (very rare watch).  The Skipper was created to mark the victory of the yacht Intrepid which won the Americas Cup in 1967. Heuer provided the timing equipment for this winning yacht. This was an entirely new chronograph model for Heuer and used brightly coloured subsidiary dials. Research suggested that the green for the subsidiary seconds dial matched the colour of the Intrepid’s deck, with this colour having been originally chosen because of its anti-reflective properties. The watch has earnt the nickname ‘Skipperera’ as it was the only Skipper model to use the Carrera case. It was also the only Skipper model produced not to feature a calibrated bezel.
