Switzerland, year 2000, the Maison Gerald Charles is founded by the legendary watch designer and artist, Monsieur Gerald Charles Genta (1931-2011). Today the Maison enjoys the worldwide success of its Maestro Anniversary. A limited edition of 252 pieces, celebrating the 20 years anniversary of Gerald Charles. This edition is now almost sold-out and therefore very rare to find. The Maison follows up with a great addition to the Maestro Collection, the GC20 “Original Time”.

The four GC20 references are characterized by the iconic Maestro Case as well as the original dial, both coming from the drawings that Mr. Genta exclusively realized for Gerald Charles.

GC20 is available in two versions: polished stainless steel (ref. “A”) or DLC coated (ref. “DLC”). Each of them has two dials with sunburst finishing for a better ligh reflection: Blue Royal ref. “01” and Matte Black with coral-painted minutes  ref.“00”.

The Gerald Charles strap features a double-face decoration with pyramids on one side and GC logo’s tappisserie on the other. This is also an original design by Mr. Genta for the Swiss Maison. The strap material is a technical vulcanized rubber, chosen by the Maison to guarantee superior water resistance, strength, durability and comfort on wrist.

The Maestro Original Time ref. GC20-A-01 in stainless steel features new colored dials on the iconic Maestro case. The watch is characterized by the iconic Maestro case and original dial, both designed by the legendary Swiss designer: Mr. Gerald Charles Genta. An exclusive edition for Maison Gerald Charles. The GCA automatic movement is fully updated and COSC certified with the “Côte de Genève excellent finishing.

This timepiece is unisex on a 40mm case and water-resistant to 100 meters. It showcases superior ergonomics and comfort on wrist.

Gerald Charles production of the GC20-A-01 edition is limited to less than 100 pieces per year. In its “01” version, the watch dial features a royal blue sunburst finishing for optimized light reflection.

The hands and apply indexes are enriched by SuperLuminova paint that is luminescent in the dark. Combining minimalism and elegance makes this extraordinary swiss-made timepiece easy to wear on any occasion.

The Maestro Original Time ref. GC20-DLC-01 undergoes a complex coating process with Diamond Like Carbon, known by the acronym of DLC. Similar DLC treatments are applied in high-end engineering to drastically improve performance and durability of supersport motorcycles or Formula 1 racecars.

The value of such coating accrues from its unique ability to provide some of the properties of diamond to the stainless steel, Maestro case, surface. Improved hardness, reduced friction and wear resistance are three main achievements of Gerald Charles DLC coating. Monsieur Gerald Charles Genta

Monsieur Gerald Charles Genta was born in Geneva in 1931. From a young age his interest was piqued by artistic disciplines, namely painting and sculpture. At the end of his teenage years, he came into contact with the world of high-end jewellery, where he discovered the design that was soon to become his great passion. Monsieur Genta is deemed the most famous watch designer in the world. Acclaimed by many as “The Maestro”. At the young age of 23, he created his first wrist masterpiece, the Polerouter for Maison Universal Geneva. His most famous creations include the Royal Oak for Audemars Piguet in 1972, the Nautilus for Patek Philippe in 1976, the Bulgari Bulgari and Bulgari Roma for Bulgari in the early eighties. Not to be forgotten is his fundamental contribution in redesigning Cartier’s Pasha, IWC’s Ingenieur, the Golden Ellipse for Patek Philippe and various models for Omega. In 1969, Monsieur Genta decided to create his first brand: “Gerald Genta”. This brand was sold in the late nineties and integrated later into the Bulgari portfolio. In the early 2000s Monsieur Genta, at the height of his international success, founded the most modern and audacious of his brands: “Gerald Charles”. For the Maison Gerald Charles, the famous designer created some of the most modern of his watches, amongst them the “Maestro” collection is one of his highest achievements. An asymmetric watch case, unique of its kind, was never seen before and represents a radical innovation from everything else until now. Being ahead of their time and stay iconic forever are qualities common to  Gerald’s watches.
